Early Game Recaps
Season 7 is starting out with a bang with some early matchups.
December was the time of giving, but the Broncos started early.
LAC 42 - DEN 28
This game came down to turnovers plain and simple. The Broncos turned it over 3 times and lost by 2 scores. The Chargers caused 3 interceptions by 3 different players on their way to victory. Justin Herbert, who was speculated to not be in LA this season, threw for 280 yards and 3 touchdowns. It wasn't all bad for the Broncos, the leagues number one running back ran for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns in the loss.
I don't want it, you take it!
KC 14 - CLE 31
Rust runs heavy in this game as both teams combined for 8 turnovers. Neither offense wanted to control the football. The Chiefs lost despite running for 220 yards with Maholmes throwing 4 interceptions. The Browns took advantage of the turnovers made by the Chiefs to take the lead and not look back.
J.E.T.S Ready for Takeoff!
NYJ 34 - NE 0
The Jets are picking up right where they left off last season. The former #1 seed in the AFC launched both an aerial and ground assault on the NE Defense who had no answers for Watson and Hawkins. The NE offense was also missed the flight to NY as they only mustered 113 yards for the entire game.
Big 12 Football has arrived in the NFL
NO 34 - SF 66
If you wanted to see defense this was not the game for you. Like the Big 12 in college there was not a defender to be seen during this game. Justin Fields and Trevor Lawrence combined for nearly 1100 yards throwing and 100 points. I imagine that there will be some defensive coordinators polishing up resumes after this game. The difference here was 4 turnovers committed by the Saints. This recipe won't last long for either team if they want to have success.
Run, run, and run some more!
MIN 21 - TB 45
No surprise that both these teams came out running. Minnesota has one of the fastest backs in the league and Tampa's coach just runs until the wheels fall off. Combined between the two teams 460 yards were gained on the ground with Tampa contributing 332 of them. Similar to other games early on this one came down to turnovers as the Vikings threw 3 interceptions in this game.
